Meet our Team

Adina Campbell, MD

CPAN Psychiatrist

Dr. Campbell was raised throughout Texas and earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale.  She has been a faculty member at UT Health San Antonio since 2017, joining the Department of Psychiatry after completing her training in both General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UTHSCSA.  Dr. Campbell serves as director for the University Hospital inpatient Pediatric Psychiatry Consult and Liaison service focusing on psychosomatic medicine as well as early interventions for PTSD.  She is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and especially enjoys her time working with and training future physicians and child psychiatrists.


Alexa Ayala

Research Coordinator and Assessor

Alexa Ayala graduated from UT Rio Grande Valley with a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2021. Previously, Alexa has worked with youth and adolescents from her experience as a case manager for Tropical Texas Behavioral Health Services in the Rio Grande Valley. Alexa is currently attending UT San Antonio under the College of Education and Human Development, pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She began at UT Health San Antonio in 2023 and has worked in the research program focusing on PTSD treatment in youth and adolescents. She plans to work with youth and adolescents in a counseling setting once fully licensed as an LPC and after graduating in the Spring of 2025.


Anissa Belford

Anissa Belford graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University (Gig ’em!). During her undergraduate studies, she completed a biomedical research program while working full-time and actively giving back to the community through a service-based organization. She began at UT Health San Antonio in 2022 and has worked in multiple research programs, all focusing on PTSD treatment in adolescents. Anissa’s future career goal is to apply to and be accepted into an accredited PA program, specializing in pediatric psychiatry.


Annie Flores

Research Coordinator and Assessor

Annie Flores is a UT Austin Graduate who earned her BS in Psychology in 2022. Prior to joining the YDSRN, her research experience included studying neurodegenerative disease and substance use disorders. She is also a San Antonio native and local musician and artist!


Camille Gaspard, MSB

CPAN PeriPAN Community Outreach Coordinator

Millie became a member of the CPAN PeriPAN team in September 2023. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration on Health Sciences, and a minor in Communications, specializing in Health Communications. Additionally, Millie recently earned her Master of Science in Business from UTSA. Passionate about expanding healthcare knowledge, Millie aims to enhance the capacity for understanding among both patients and providers.


Cassandra Bullock, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-BC

Cassandra was born and raised in Ohio. She attended Ohio University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration. She then worked in practice management before returning to school to earn her BSN. Cassandra soon direct commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps as an ICU nurse, serving active-duty Army for 10 years. She worked as an ICU nurse at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center during the height of the Iraq/Afghan wars, deployed to Iraq for OIF/OEF/OND, and worked at BAMC on the Rapid Response Team and Medical ICU. She finished her career in the Army at the U.S. Institute of Surgical Research in the Burn ICU and on the Burn Flight Team. All these experiences reinforced the importance of mental health for patients and their families. Cassandra thus pursued further education in Psychiatric Mental Health with UT School of Nursing. Cassandra and her family enjoy being outdoors at the State and National Parks, as well as biking around the city of San Antonio.


Catherine Silva

CPAN PeriPAN Community Outreach Coordinator

Catherine has been with UT Health San Antonio since 2021. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University- San Antonio in 2019. During her time at TAMUSA, she worked in the Student Counseling Center. Catherine also served as a Peace Corps Public Health Volunteer to empower communities and build capacity to improve maternal and child health in Guinea, West Africa.


Christina Del Rio, MA, LPC-S

Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor

Christina Del Rio, MA, LPC-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Council-approved supervisor. She completed her Master’s in Community Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009. She has experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings to include non-profit and state organizations. Christina utilizes evidence-based interventions when providing therapeutic services to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Christina will tailor treatment to address an individual’s unique need.


Danielle Salinas, LPC-Associate

LPC-Associate

Danielle Salinas is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and received her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2022 from Texas State University.

Danielle has had experience working with children, adults, and families in a variety of settings. She has a passion for using play therapy and expressive techniques to work with grief, anxiety, and trauma. Danielle works from a client-centered perspective and strives to meet each person with what they need. She understands that children are part of an important and complex system, and will work to integrate family, parents, and teachers into treatment.

When she is not counseling, you can find Danielle cuddling her dog Eloise, spending time with family and friends, and watching reruns of her favorite shows.


Elena Aguinaga, MA, LPC-Associate

LPC-Associate

Elena Aguinaga is a Texas State Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate, Supervised By: Jennifer V. Randow, LPC-S). She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMUSA). She has also worked in the mental health field for 2 years working with families needing services such as supervised visitations, parenting classes, reunifications, and general counseling services. Elena is being working towards completing training in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as well as PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy). Elena received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston. Elena’s previous professional background includes working in career development in higher education at TAMUSA (Texas A&M University-San Antonio) as well as TLU (Texas Lutheran University). During time off, Elena enjoys hiking, playing cozy video games, running/training for marathons, as well as visiting new coffee shops and plant nurseries.
